Laidler Certification
Whilst the New Approach Directives do allow some level of self certification, each Directive outlines specific instances when the compliance process must be carried out by a company with recognised knowledge and experience. The designation given to these companies is Notified Body and a company can receive this designation for one or more Directives.
To achieve this status, a company must be audited against pre-requisite conditions that are laid down in the Directives. The conditions will include their quality system and the knowledge and experience of relevant members of staff in their given area. In the UK, Notified Bodies are audited by UKAs (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) on behalf of the Secretary of State for Industry (Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, formerly DTI).
Laidler Certification is a Notified Body for both the Machinery and EMC Directives and has held this designation for over 10 years. Verification of this status can be found on the European Nando website by clicking here
There are 3 main areas in which Laidler Certification works:
- CE Marking of Annex IV machinery for the Machinery Directive
- Technical File sign off for the EMC Directive
- Semiconductor machinery assessments to industry standards
